Monique Evans e a mulher, a DJ Cacá Werneck, estão há três meses frequentando os cultos da Igreja Cristã Contemporânea, em Madureira, na Zona Norte do Rio. Monique é batizada há quinze anos na religião evangélica, e deixou de frequenta-la por conta do seu relacionamento homossexual. “Quando eu conheci a Cacá, parei de frequentar a igreja porque eu achava que nenhuma aceitava homossexuais. Essa é uma igreja que aceita gays”, contou para o site EXTRA. Publicidade Evangélica, Monique diz ser bem tratada e acolhida pelos fieis, que são bem diversos. “Lá é o máximo. É uma igreja que tem muitos gays e que diz que Deus aceita todo mundo. Os pastores (e fundadores Fabio Inacio e Marcos Gladstone) são gays e casados há dez anos e têm três filhos adotivos”, disse. A Igreja Cristã Contemporânea se apresenta como uma representação do amor incondicional de Deus por um povo que sofria a dor da exclusão. Fundada em 2006, possui sede no Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais e São Paulo.
